DJI Mavic 2 Pro vs Skydio 2
Now is the time to find out which drone is the best in the market. May the best drone win.
Over here we are looking
at two very different drones that can do different tasks. But since
they both are drones we must compare them. Here is an in-depth
comparison review of both the best drones of the respective companies.
*each round is worth 3 points*
*in case of draw 1 point will be given to both*
1.Flight Time
The DJI Mavic 2 Pro finishes it's flight time is about 25-28 minutes although DJI claims it can do a 30-minute flight.
On the other hand, Skydio 2 does around 21-23 minutes. This is much likely because of all the A.I tracking it does.
So Round 1 goes to DJI Mavic 2 Pro.

So Round 1 goes to DJI Mavic 2 Pro.
2. Flight Speed
Skydio 2's web page will
show you that the drone can clock at a top speed of 36 mph. Although I
feel that speed is quite unnecessary unless and until you are filming a
cheetah.
However, the DJI Mavic 2 Pro clocks in a much more amazing 44 mph. As mentioned these flight speeds do not come in handy that much but if you are curious you can always have a race between the two drones.
Round 2 goes to DJI Mavic 2 Pro.

Round 2 goes to DJI Mavic 2 Pro.
3. Active Tracking
This is where the Skydio
2 pummels the DJI Mavic 2 Pro. This is most likely because of the six
200 degrees color cameras it has. Powered with the beacon it can track
you even when it cannot see you. However, in low light situations, it
will not fly at all.
DJI Mavic 2 Pro has obstacle detecting sensors on the front, back, top, bottom, and sides. However, the side sensors are only in action during the pre-programmed Intelligent flight mode and also in some cases, it will hit small branches and twigs.
So Round 3 goes to Skydio 2.

So Round 3 goes to Skydio 2.
4. Camera
People buy drones for
the spectacular shots they bring us. DJI Mavic 2 Pro records videos at
4K@ 30 fps and the Skydio 2 records footages at 4K@60 fps. However, the
DJI Mavic 2 Pro has a much bigger sensor of 1" by Hasselblad and it
excels in low light situations.
Although the Skydio 2 has a smaller sensor it's videos and pictures are excellent. But it loses its edge in the low light situations. The Skydio 2 can capture moments at different angles with various degree tilts but the DJI Mavic 2 Pro cannot.
I would give this round to Skydio but because of the low light situation, it is a draw. Round 4: Draw.

I would give this round to Skydio but because of the low light situation, it is a draw. Round 4: Draw.
5. Portability
The Skydio 2 is much smaller than the DJI Mavic 2 Pro and it fits perfectly in its case.
However, the DJI Mavic 2 Pro can be folded to smaller bags and the Skydio cannot so DJI wins this round.
Round 5: DJI 2 Mavic Pro .

6.Pricing
the DJI Mavic 2 Pro
retails at around $1800. This price is quite expensive for a drone and
you should think before spending this much.
The Skydio 2 retails at $999. Even with the $149 beacon and controller each the Skydio 2 is cheaper than the DJI Mavic 2 Pro.
So, Round 6 goes to the Skydio 2.

So, Round 6 goes to the Skydio 2.
7. Controller
Here is a crucial point
of the comparison. The Skydio 2 comes with the beacon which when paired
with your phone can find you anywhere but its controller loses its
signal quite often. Skydio 2 has a range of 2.17 miles.
The DJI Mavic 2 Pro has a range of 4.3 miles. The DJI Mavic 2 Pro does not have a beacon to track you down and its active tracking is not that great either however it's the controller is amazing. It has a display, you can connect your phone, charge your phone and have much better connectivity.
Now people might think my decision on this one is unfair but just because the Skydio 2 has a beacon and it is much cheaper than the DJI Mavic 2 Pro, I thereby, rate this a draw.
Round 7 goes to both DJI Mavic 2 Pro and the Skydio 2.

Conclusion:
I have to say this was
one of the hardest yet unbiased decisions ever because both the drones
are so perfect yet not the best. I do not intend to hurt anyone but I
will say both the Drones are top quality. But since this is a comparison
there must be a winner.
With a score of 11 to 8 and the winner by majority decision, DJI Mavic 2 Pro.

Congratulation, DJI Mavic 2 Pro, you are TeckReady's Best Drone.
